Both Ciao and Dooyoo operate in much the same way and pay consumers a small amount to post opinions. Because they are so similar it has become established practice to join both sites and post the same opinion on both sites thereby doubling chances of payment. Whether this is ethical is another question. Some people prefer to to stick to one or the other sites and some post everywhere possible.
Of the two sites Ciao is probably the most popular at the moment, largely because Dooyooo seems to have ongoing technical problems which prevent the opinions being presented professionally.(This the reason I have avoided linking to my dooyoo reviews)
Neither site has any real quality control in evidence. Payments are made regardless of quality and outdated opinions are allowed to remain on the site. The peer review system is supposed to deal with the quality issue but it doesn't work that well because people do not like to rate 'friends' badly.
Almost non-existant. Ciao pays 1p per member rating on a few categories mainly consumer items.
Premium FundCiao has a share out scheme of £1100 per month which pays up to £15 per opinion. However, there is no guarantee and no indication of how it is allocated. (Over the last three months I have received a total of £4.50 for 13 reviews) I suspect it depends more on general participation around the site than anything else.
How it is paidCiao pay cash direct into a UK bank account. You have to have a UK bank a/c and be prepared to send details online.
SurveysCiao also pay if you are willing to complete surveys. The average payment is about £1.50 for a few minutes work.
Dooyoo pays 10p per opinion and 3p per member read on most categories. 30 reads is about average for an active member. However, Dooyoo are paying 6p per read until Christmas.
CrownsDooyoo award 'crowns' and an additional £1.50 to the best opinions on a weekly basis. Many dedicated opinionators think that this is a fairer system than Ciao's selctive premium fund.
How is it Paid?Dooyoo pays £50 cash if you can accumulate 550000 miles. If you reach £100 there is no charge. This is paid by cheque. You can also claim £20 Amazon or Blackstar vouchers if you earn 22500 miles. You can also donate earnings to a charity of your choice.
